Senator Eddie Melton

Eddie Melton is a trusted leader with a passion to serve his community and state. Eddie has over a decade of non-profit executive leadership. Currently, Eddie serves as the Manager of Federal Government Relations for Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO), a natural gas and electric distribution company in Merrillville, IN.

From 2014-2016, Eddie served as the Mid-west Regional Director and national board member for the American Association of Blacks in Energy. In 2015, Governor Mike Pence appointed Eddie to serve on the Indiana State Board of Education to represent the 1st Congressional District. On November 22, 2016 Eddie was elected to serve as the Indiana State Senator for the 3rd District. He received his B.S. in Organizational Management from Calumet College of St. Joseph. He currently lives in Merrillville, IN with his wife Crystal and their four children.
